Workwear and Ceremonial Belts
Wyedean manufactures and supplies a variety of different belts to armed and uniformed forces worldwide. From webbed belts for soldiers, sailors and cadets, to leather Sam Browne belts, cross belts, sword belts and shoulder belts, the company has many years of experience supplying to the British Ministry of Defence.
Webbed belts are simple, standard issue waist belts that consist of a length of tipped polypropylene webbing with a gold or silver buckle on the end.
Sam Browne belts typically take the form of wide leather belts that fastens around the waist and across the shoulder. Originally used for carrying a sword or pistol, today they’re reserved for Officers and Warrant Officers Class 1 of the British Army and Royal Marines for formal Number 2 dress and occasionally Number 1 dress.
Stable belts are made from wide and coloured, often striped webbing, with the colours denoting the regiment, corps or training unit. In fact, every single regiment and corps of the British Army has its own stable belt.
